Flights are available into Burlington International Airport (BTV) in Burlington, VT. From the airport, Lake Placid is about a two hour drive.
You can chose to take a route that crosses Lake Champlain by ferry or a route that crosses Lake Champlain by bridge to avoid the ferry.

Flights are available into Albany International Airport (ALB) in Albany, New York. From the airport, Lake Placid is a 2.5 hour drive.
A limited selection of flights are available to Plattsburgh International Airport (PBG) in Plattsburgh, New York. From the airport, Lake Placid is a one hour drive.
A very limited number of flights are available into Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK) in Saranac Lake, New York. Cape Air provides direct flights to Saranac Lake from Boston’s Logan International Airport. Cape Air is not recommended unless arriving in advance. Please note the Cape Air planes are very small.
Renting a car from the airport is recommended.
Transportation Companies are also available from the airports. Premiere Transportation offers car / SUV / van service service from Albany, NYC, Newark, or Syracuse.
Additional Taxi services are available from Burlington Airport.
Railway access via Amtrak is available from New York, Albany, and Montreal, with tickets that include a shuttle ride to Lake Placid direct from the Westport Station.
